Season review · 2025/26 season
Survived and established: Town's first season at step five
Sixteenth place and 39 points kept Town at step five in the club's highest-ever league season.
Nobody hands promoted clubs anything in the NCEL Premier Division, and Town's first season at step five was a scrap from August to April. Nine wins and twelve draws added up to 39 points and sixteenth of twenty, clear of the drop, in the highest division the club has ever played in.
The season also brought the club's first-ever FA Cup tie, a 0-0 draw with Wombwell Town at Southfield Lane in the extra preliminary round, and the best FA Vase run in Town's history, reaching the third round proper by way of a 4-1 win at Club Thorne Colliery and a penalty shoot-out win over Goole AFC after a 4-4 draw.
The job for 2026/27: make the Pulse Hire Ltd Stadium a hard place to visit, and push up the table.
Champions · 2024/25 season
Champions: Town win NCEL Division One
Thirty wins from forty-two games and 95 points took the Division One title and promotion to the Premier Division, the club's highest level yet.
The 2024/25 season goes down as the best in Horbury Town's history: champions of NCEL Division One with 30 wins, 5 draws and 7 defeats from 42 games, and 95 points on the board.
The title carried Town into the NCEL Premier Division at step five of the pyramid, further up the ladder than the club has ever been. Three seasons earlier the club was still in the West Yorkshire Association League; the climb since 2022 has been relentless.
Proud to be Town has never read truer.
